Empowering Families in Crisis

During Phase One, IE Live focuses on community-based support, helping families navigate resources and access appropriate services.

IE Live is working toward a long-term vision of developing comprehensive child and family stabilization services. At this stage, IE Live operates in a non-clinical capacity, focusing on community-based support, emotional support, resource navigation, and connecting families to trusted service providers.

We were founded on a simple but urgent belief: no child should ever be harmed because their caregiver had nowhere to turn. In Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery Counties, many families face moments of intense pressure mental health breakdowns, domestic conflict, burnout, and emergencies when traditional childcare, crisis services, or support networks are unavailable. These moments can escalate into tragedy. IE Live exists to step in before that happens.

Our trauma-informed team provides compassionate care that protects children while giving parents the time, space, and support they need to regain stability. We collaborate with mental health providers, hospitals, schools, child welfare agencies, and law enforcement to ensure families receive immediate help when the risks are highest.

IE Live is a non-clinical organization. We provide emotional support, resource navigation, and referrals only. IE Live does not provide medical care, therapy, psychiatric services, or emergency/crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 988 or 911.

IE Live, Inc. fills a critical gap in the social services system: immediate, short-term care that prevents child abuse, reduces family trauma, and keeps children out of unnecessary protective custody. Parents receive de-escalation coaching, emotional support, safety planning, and referrals to long-term services all at no cost and without judgment or barriers.

We believe in safety.

We believe in compassion.

We believe in healing, prevention, and hope.

Phyllis Brown-Wardlaw

Founder, Board Chair & President – IE Live, Inc.

Phyllis Brown-Wardlaw is a healthcare and community care professional with over a decade of experience supporting vulnerable populations across cardiology, senior living, direct care support, and early childhood services. Her career has centered on providing compassionate care in high-pressure environments where families often face trauma, emotional instability, or overwhelming stress. Through her work in clinical settings and community programs, Phyllis has witnessed firsthand the breaking points that caregivers experience when they lack safe, reliable support during moments of crisis.

These experiences revealed a vital gap in local resources: when a parent feels emotionally unstable, overwhelmed, or fearful they may harm their child, there is rarely a safe place to bring the child for temporary care and stabilization. Determined to fill this gap, Phyllis founded IE Live, Inc., a crisis childcare and family-stabilization program that intervenes before tragedy can occur. IE Live is built on her belief that no parent should face crisis alone and that every child deserves safety, stability, and hope.

Phyllis’s leadership blends lived experience, professional expertise, and trauma informed practice. Her work is grounded in both empathy and operational strength, shaped by years of supporting families in distress, managing medical crises, and navigating complex care systems. She brings a deep understanding of child safety, caregiver stress, and community needs allowing her to guide IE Live with a clear vision and a strong commitment to impact.

Professional Degrees & Credentials
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

  • Certification in Early Childhood Education

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Management Concentration

These qualifications allow Phyllis to operate at the intersection of healthcare, child development, crisis intervention, and nonprofit management. Her unique blend of training positions her to build a program that is both clinically informed and deeply compassionate.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create safe, supportive environments that protect children, strengthen families, and reduce trauma by connecting caregivers to the resources, support, and guidance they need during times of crisis.

Currently, IE Live operates in a non-clinical capacity, providing emotional support, resource navigation, and referrals to trusted partners. We help families access appropriate services and support systems during times of stress, transition, and crisis.

Our work is guided by compassion, dignity, and the belief that every child and caregiver deserves safety, connection, and support during their hardest moments.

Our Vision

A community where no child faces harm, and every caregiver has access to safety, compassion, and crisis support.

IE Live envisions a community where children and caregivers have immediate access to safe, nurturing crisis support; where families recover with dignity; and where no parent must face crisis alone.

Our Story

IE Live was founded to fill a dangerous gap in child welfare: the absence of emergency childcare for parents who are overwhelmed, afraid, or in crisis. We offer short-term safety for children while connecting caregivers to long-term support.

Our Values                                                                           Our Impact Goals

  • Child Safety                                                                                                                                             Reduce child abuse reports

  • Compassion                                                                                                                                            Prevent child fatalities

  • Trauma-Informed Care                                                                                                                      Keep families intact and safe

  • Family Preservation                                                                                                                            Provide accessible crisis support

  • Dignity                                                                                                                                                      Strengthen parents’ emotional resilience

  • Community Partnership

  • Accountability

Why We Grow Slowly

At IE Live, Inc., we believe that how we grow matters just as much as what we build.
Our mission centers families during moments of crisis and instability. That responsibility requires care, restraint, and intention—not speed.
We choose to grow slowly because:
  • Families deserve support that is safe, ethical, and reliable
  • Trust is built through consistency, not urgency
  • Expansion without readiness creates harm, not help
IE Live begins with services that:
  • Are voluntary and prevention-focused
  • Do not place children at risk
  • Do not overpromise or overreach
Before adding new programs, spaces, or services, we ensure:
  • Clear systems are in place
  • Proper safeguards exist
  • The people doing the work are supported and sustainable
We do not rush toward facilities, funding, or visibility at the expense of families or integrity.
Growing slowly allows us to:
  • Listen before we scale
  • Learn before we expand
  • Protect those we serve and those who serve
